Spring is in the air and the flowers are blooming! 😍 There's nothing left for us to do but make a pretty and pink flower arrangement to bring good vibes and sunshine inside! ☀️
Ever wondered how florists make the most gorgeous and unique flower arrangements? Here's a few secrets that will have everyone thinking you're a pro and your house smelling like roses! 🌹
What you'll need:
- 1 to 2 large flower types (about 2 stems each)
- 4 to 5 small to medium flower types (about 2 stems each)
- A short vase with a 6" opening
- Tape
Step 1: Pick your flowers
Head to any local market or flower store to find some spring feelin' flowers and greenery. We stopped by one of our fave local shops in San Diego, Native Poppy for all our flower needs! 💐 For this arrangement we're doing a pink and orange theme using orange Carpe Diem roses as our statement flowers mixed with garden spray roses, peach cremons, peach stock, lisianthus and some snap dragons for some height! We also grabbed baby eucalyptus and wax flower filler for our greenery! 🌿
Step 2: Prep the flowers
To help keep your arrangement alive longer, remove the leaves from the bottom of the stems to prevent them from getting into the water! 🍃 Then group your flowers and greenery together and lay them out so you can pick and choose easily!
Step 3: Prep your vase
Grab your 6" vase and fill it with water (and flower food if you got any from the market)!💦 Then using your tape, you'll make a grid over the top of the vase opening to secure your flower stems.🌷
Step 4: Add the greenery
When making an arrangement, the first thing you'll want to do is to add in your greenery and filler focusing on the outer edges of the vase. Add in a few filler stems in the middle of the vase for different heights and texture! 🌿
Step 5: Add the smaller flowers
Set your larger, statement flowers to the side and add in the smaller flowers to your vase. Be sure to cut your stems at all different lengths so there's dimension in your arrangement! Cut some shorter to sit at the base of the vase opening and make some a bit longer to add height! 🌼
Step 6: Place the statement flowers
The last step is what gives your arrangement the finishing touch it needs - statement flowers! 🌹 These flowers will be the main focal point of your arrangement so make sure you place them toward the center of your vase!
