Rady Children’s Hospital Helmet Safety

Did you know that in California, there is a helmet safety law? We all know to wear our seat belts while driving, not only because it’s the law, but because it saves lives. Well, the same thing goes for helmets when riding a bike or anything not motorized with wheels. Yes, that includes your skateboards and or rollerblades. Safety first. It’s the Law!
Meet the Carmel Valley Unit. It’s a group of energized women from all over the North County motivated to make a real difference. These women make up the Auxiliary and are dedicated to working in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital, by supporting its mission through advocating for the well-being and health of children. They also increase community awareness of the Hospital, and are a large part in fundraising. Over the years they have raised approximately $4 million to support various areas of the Hospital such as Speech & Hearing, Emergency Care Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Center, Asthma and Immunology, Chadwick Center for Children and Autism Discovery Institute. They are always welcoming new members, so if you want to join, they meet the third Thursday of every month. If you want to learn more, you can contact their unit at CVRCHAMembership@gmail.com (Susan Polizzotto).
